Arizona Adult Protective Services:
This agency is the largest collection of highly paid taxpayer funded useless apathetic carbon based life forms on the face of the planet.
They are allegedly tasked with investigation and enforcement of A.R.S. §§ 46-451 (at right). When true and verifiable concerns were brought to their attention however they quickly placed their collective heads in the sand. They proved this to be their normal mode of operation in Joann’s case.
When presented with numerous statements and physical documentation that clearly illustrated;
- Joann was being isolated against her will. Her desire was to be in her home. An option that was truly available to her, per her hospital case worker.
- Integral Senior Living (The Stratford) staff were following orders from a mentally unstable, out of town P.O.A, rather than Joann herself.
- This P.O.A. had already unilaterally decided against medically practicable (and desired by Joann) surgical intervention when the tumor was first discovered and deemed operable.
They claimed they would investigate, however NONE of these issues were ever addressed by them. In fact, Ms. Jackie Parker outright stated that A.P.S. was not obligated or legally bound to investigate or act on matters of isolation. Ms. Parker’s statement seemed to be well beyond problematic given the fact that A.R.S. §§ 46-451, specifically section 9(b) does state that maintaining a familiar living environment for vulnerable adults IS the responsibility of A.P.S. In Joann’s case she was being restricted from who she was allowed to have contact with. She even asked to see specific people and was denied. She was reaching out to people trying to make contact via her smart phone until her brother took it away from her. A.P.S. was made aware of this fact by numerous parties. These people even went to A.P.S. in protest of this isolation by her brother. A.P.S. was VERY AWARE that forced isolation was taking place, yet did absolutely nothing to end it.
